  • Officiate as the Official Representative of the Government of Trinidad and Tobago in countries of accreditation for various occasions including, meetings, conferences, seminars, banquets etc.
  • Maintain and establish new networks among government, private sector and all other civil society to promote Trinidad and Tobago in the countries of accreditation.
  • Manage visits of dignitaries and other official delegations from Trinidad and Tobago to countries of accreditation.
  • Monitor developments in countries of accreditation and regionally.
  • Facilitate the negotiation of bilateral agreements.
  • Organise meetings with the business sector to promote doing business and investing in Trinidad and Tobago.
  • Utilise our network of business contacts to assist the private sector in Trinidad and Tobago and countries of accreditation in conducting trade and other business.
  • Organise performances and seminars/workshops on or about Trinidad and Tobago culture with the assistance of cultural groups from Trinidad and Tobago.
  • Provide information about Trinidad and Tobago.

Services Provided

Visas to Trinidad and Tobago

Passports for Trinidad and Tobago

Authentification of Documents

The Consular Unit attests documents notarised by the Ministry of External Affairs of India. Visit the Downloads section to obtain the procedure for Attestation of Documents. If you have any queries email .

For documents which are issued by the Government of Trinidad and Tobago and certain other organisations in Trinidad and Tobago the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Port of Spain, Trinidad has to affix a stamp which legalizes the requested document (an Apostille). Certification of Life Certificates for Pensioners

The National is required to visit the Chancery in person with the appropriate form(s) for notarization. A prior appointment is recommended, call or email .

Payments in respect of student on scholarship

Trinidad and Tobago nationals on scholarship in India and who are entitled to payments are requested to visit the Chancery in person to make arrangements for payments. A prior appointment is recommended, call or email .

Provision of Government of Trinidad and Tobago-issued documents

The Consular Unit can provide assistance in obtaining the following documents from the Government of Trinidad and Tobago: Birth Certificate, Marriage Certificate, Death Certificate, Police Clearance Certificate, Certificate of Fact (Non-Impediment Certificate). Registration of Trinidad and Tobago Nationals

Renunciation and Restoration of Citizenship

The Consular Unit works in tandem with the Ministry of National Security on Trinidad and Tobago citizenship issues. Contact the Consular Unit by telephone or email for these services.

Repatriation of Human Remains
